Receive Coordinator of the Year and Organisational Award Badges
The Achievement Service supports a category of coordinator-specific organisational award badges that are distinct from activity-count or streak-based badges. These include the Coordinator of the Year award and similar special recognition titles. These badges can be triggered by administrator action (manual award) or by the Achievement Service based on configured criteria such as highest team activity volume within a period. When awarded, the badge appears in the coordinator's Achievements screen under an 'Organisational Awards' category with the award year and any associated citation. The Push Notification Service informs the coordinator immediately upon award. Badge imagery for these awards is visually distinct from milestone badges to convey their prestige.
User Story
Acceptance Criteria
- Given an administrator awards a Coordinator of the Year badge to a coordinator, when the award is processed, then the badge appears in the coordinator's Achievements screen under 'Organisational Awards'
- Given a coordinator is awarded an organisational badge, when the Achievement Service emits the award event, then the Push Notification Service dispatches an immediate notification with the award name
- Given a coordinator views their Coordinator of the Year badge, when they tap it, then the detail view shows the award year, the criteria or citation associated with the award, and the awarding organisation
- Given the Achievement Service evaluates period-end criteria, when a coordinator meets the configured threshold for a special award, then the badge is automatically awarded without manual intervention
- Given a coordinator views their Achievements screen, when they have multiple award types (milestone badges and organisational awards), then the two categories are visually separated and both are accessible
Business Value
Coordinator of the Year and similar organisational awards give local associations a visible, cost-free tool to publicly celebrate their top contributors. Coordinators are the operational backbone of each association; recognising their efforts through a formal digital award strengthens retention in a role that is often high-effort and under-acknowledged. The coordinator-specific badge category also differentiates the recognition system from peer mentor milestones, making each audience feel uniquely valued.
